We validate bills against the agreed contract or tariff rates to ensure that no overpayment occurs.

Where bills contain errors, they will be rejected and returned to the supplier for correction.

STC will monitor to ensure that bills are corrected and that credits are correctly applied.

STC has achieved major savings for many customers by simply re-checking old utility invoices. Our software is able to analyse all energy contracts including flexible and energy only arrangements.  Some of the variables we check are shown below:

• Consumption units match the load profile data by time band.

• Meter readings follow on correctly.

• Unit rates are correctly applied in accordance with the agreed contract.

• DUOS scales are correctly applied if applicable.

• Distribution losses are correctly applied.

• TUOS (Triads) charges are correctly applied if applicable.

• Transmission losses are correctly applied if applicable.

• Supply capacity charges have been correctly applied.

• Identify poor power factors and abnormally high or low load factors.

• Check half-hour data for possible estimates leading to overcharging.

• That VAT and CCL have been correctly applied where applicable.

• Check bills are not for vacated sites or bills are not duplicates.

The bill validation process is controlled by strict quality controlled procedures ensuring that billing errors are identified and corrected.
